The catch is you won't know which tulip you end up buying. Will you get a painting of a Semper Augustus, which during the tulip mania was the highest prized tulip in the world? Or of a tulip painted by my 6 year old niece, which I value higher? You won’t know until the painting has been sent home to you. It’s a bit of a gamble, much like the NFT art market in general.
